Mission

To provide support for parents and professionals in education and health-care, and to promote public awareness and understanding of learning differences, Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD); and how they impact children, both personally and academically.

Primary Objectives

F.O.C.U.S. endeavors to improve the education of children in Hong Kong who are affected by Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and/or Attentional Disorder (AD/HD).

We provide a support network for families, educators and caregivers

  • To provide opportunities for teacher training in educational issues relating to AD/HD and SLD
  • To facilitate seminars for health care professionals about current medical issues relating to AD/HD and SLD
  • To be a community resource and to disseminate accurate, evidence-based information about AD/HD and SLD to parents, educators, health care professionals and the media
  • To be an advocate on behalf of the AD/HD and SLD community

  • To bring information to local government in an effort to increase provision and educational opportunities

To accomplish our mission, F.O.C.U.S. commits its collective resources to:

  • Supporting students affected by AD/HD and SLD
  • Working to ensure that children with AD/HD and SLD have access to appropriate educational opportunities and health care
  • Increasing public awareness and understanding of AD/HD and SLD in order to reduce prejudice and discrimination
